Biography
Nick Wogan is a Research Scientist at SETI working at the NASA Ames Research Center, where he uses atmospheric photochemistry and climate models to understand observations of exoplanets with the James Webb Space Telescope. Through this work, Nick has developed several open-source modeling tools, including Photochem (https://github.com/Nicholaswogan/photochem), used by the community to study exoplanets and Solar System planets. Nick received his PhD at the University of Washington (UW), where he used the same kinds of atmospheric simulations to study the early Earth atmospheres to aid understanding of the origin of life.
