Biography

Dr. Kaveh Pahlevan is a planetary scientist primarily interested in the origin and early history of Solar System planets. His research involves using classical physics (thermodynamics and mechanics) to create theoretical scenarios of early planetary evolution and to link these scenarios with relic observations on the modern planets as a way to identify viable planetary histories. His publications seek to describe the processes accompanying the origin of the Earth’s Moon, the early tidal history of the Earth-Moon system, the chemical composition of Earth’s initial (“steam”) atmosphere, and most recently, the evolution of the primordial atmosphere of Mars.
