Since 1984, the SETI Institute has led humanity’s quest to answer the question, “are we alone?” From the beginning, our research transformed the search for extraterrestrial intelligence into a respected scientific discipline. Today, our more than 100 scientists are expanding humanity’s understanding of the cosmos. Our research encompasses astrobiology and astronomy, Earth and planetary sciences, astrophysics, and exoplanet research, and pushes the boundaries of discovery. We’re committed to fostering the next generation of scientists through our education programs. And central to our mission is to share what we learn with the world.

Are we alone? Let’s find out.
