About Jeffery Bennett:

Astrophysicist and educator Jeffrey Bennett, a winner of the American Institute of Physics Science Communication Award, is the author of bestselling college textbooks in astronomy, astrobiology, mathematics, and statistics, as well as more than a dozen books for children and the public. Seven of his books have been launched into space, including six children’s books selected for NASA’s Story Time From Space Program, in which astronauts read books aloud from the International Space Station, and videos are posted freely for anyone in the world to watch at storytimefromspace.com. His most recent books include I, Humanity (for children), and A Global Warming Primer (for the general public.) Among his other endeavors, Dr. Bennett served as a Visiting Senior Scientist at NASA Headquarters in the early 1990s, where he led efforts to forge stronger links between the research and education communities, and he proposed and co-led the development of the Voyage Scale Model Solar System on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. 

Jeff Bennett is a co-author with SETI Institute's own Seth Shostak of the astrobiology textbook, Life in the Universe.
