Erik was born and raised in Dallas, Texas with a deep curiosity about the world around him. Erik received bachelor degrees in Engineering and Psychology at Stanford University, a Masters in Management from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, and an MS from the Art Center College of Design, Pasadena.  He has been a supporter of the B612, Rocket Mavericks and is certified L3 in High Power Rocketry.

Erik has 25 years experience leading companies, product and marketing teams.  Erik was a founding team member of Nest Labs and served as its VP of Product, Marketing and Sales, Logitech’s VP of Product for their mouse business and the CEO of Noon Home. Erik's work and approach has been highly influenced by his early experiences training under Nigel Carr (Chiat/Day planner credited with forming Nike's brand essence), David Kelly (father of design thinking) and Kenji Ekuwan (Shinto priest and designer of Kikkoman's soy sauce bottle).
