Big Picture Science Continues to Reach New Audiences

Big Picture Science, the SETI Institute’s weekly science radio show and podcast, continues to gain new listeners in both new public radio broadcast station partners and podcast downloads.

In 2018, BiPiSci was added to ten new station line-ups, from California to Florida. Stations that carry the show range from high schools and colleges to small community stations to NPR/PBS affiliates.

Our newest station is KSPB, a community service from Stevenson School in Pebble Beach, California. We are excited to be part of their science-friendly schedule, airing twice a week.

As we honor our veterans this month, we salute the many amazing people in our military and are very proud to be part of the Armed Forces Network, which provides television and radio services to thousands of servicemen and women. We are included on their “The Voice” news channel.

The podcast of Big Picture Science is downloaded and enjoyed worldwide (as we know from listener emails) and can be found  wherever podcasts are aggregated, including iTunes, Google Play, iHeart Radio, Spotify, and on our website. More information about the show, the hosts and producers, and past episodes are also available on the website.

Each week,Big Picture Science, hosted by astronomer Seth Shostak and science journalist Molly Bentley, interviews leading scientists, technology researchers, and journalists about emerging scientific research.  The one-hour themed programs offer both insight and humor to present surprising connections and new ways of thinking about science.  Once a month, a “Skeptic Check” episode casts a critical eye on pseudoscience.
