Shahzada Dawood was Vice Chairman of Dawood Hercules Corporation, part of the Dawood Group, which has been a family business for over a century. After joining the family business in 1996, Shahzada’s expertise was in corporate governance, turnround, and transformation of industries in Pakistan. The Dawood Hercules family has a breath of industries within their portfolio and Shahzada had been instrumental in finding growth and innovation opportunities through mergers, acquisitions, and divestments in energy, agri-nutrients, consumer foods, petrochemicals, and textiles for diversified public-listed companies. Shahzada was the Shareholder Director on the Board of Engro Corporation Limited and Dawood Lawrencepur Limited. Shahzada stewarded the Dawood Group’s technology investments, including companies focused on transforming industries through the internet of things.
Committed to a clean energy future, Shahzada was the change agent within the group to initiate investment in Reon, a leading Solar and Storage Solution. His philanthropic area of interest was in supporting education initiatives in his role as Trustee of The Dawood Foundation, which includes Dawood Public School, Dawood College of Engineering, and Karachi School of Business and Leadership - catering to educational needs up to university level. He was also a Board Member of Engro Foundation, an organization that aims to maximize social and economic impact. Shahzada believed in inclusive business models involving low-income communities building value chains along the Group’s business interests.
Shahzada Dawood served as a Member of the Global Advisory Board, Prince’s Trust International, contributing towards its vision that every young person should have a chance to succeed. He was also in the Founder’s Circle of The British Asian Trust.
Shahzada lived in the UK with his wife, Christine, his children Suleman and Alina, his dog Stig, and cat Proteus. He was fond of photography and is an ardent animal lover. Shahzadah had an M.Sc. in Global Textile Marketing from Philadelphia University, USA, and an LLB from Buckingham University, UK.
