Join us for a book signing and talk by Pascal Lee (and his dog Ping Pong)

Pascal Lee, planetary scientist at the SETI Institute and an internationally recognized expert in the planning of human missions to Mars, will give us the inside scoop on his new children’s book MISSION: MARS. You can visit the SETI Institute for this event and meet Pascal, or you can tune in to the Hangout On Air from anywhere!

MISSION: MARS takes readers on a Training Mission to become Future Mars Explorers. The book explains why Mars is both an exciting and challenging planet to explore, how to get ready for the journey, how to survive the long trip to the Red Planet, what types of exploration gear we’ll need - and where to go look for life on Mars.

Pascal explains why he wrote MISSION: MARS: "I grew up in an era when humans were walking on the Moon. It was very exciting. I remember being able to find children's books showing me the insides of real spacecraft and the workings of spacesuits. These books got me interested in science and technology at an early age, and helped me reach for my dreams. Going to Mars is the space challenge of this new century. I wanted to write a book that would get kids excited about space exploration, and above all, get them interested in science, technology, and engineering".

Following Pascal's talk, attendees will be able to join TeamSETI at 1/2 price! Starting at just $25, you can join TeamSETI and get your copy of MISSION: MARS FREE!  If you are on-site, you can get the book signed/inscribed by the author on the spot (until supplies run out). How much fun is that?!
