Field of Study

Astrophysics

Location: Hong Kong, SAR-PRC and Sedona, Arizona, U.S.A.

Education: Ph.D. in Nuclear Physics, Brigham Young University

Research Interest:
Exoplanet parameter distributions and their implications for planet formation and evolution. Statistical tests of features and relationships of these parameters. I perform extra-solar transit photometry, global telescope setup and observing to contribute more measurements of exoplanet parameters. I use interferometry and photometry to study stars, and connect solar astronomy to the study of stellar surfaces. Research projects have included studying the atmospheric propagation of light, cosmic rays, gamma rays, nuclear physics, nuclear fusion especially muon catalyzed fusion, low-rate fusion in condensed matter systems, and atomic physics.

Public outreach discussing:

  • life in the universe
  • intelligent life on exoplanets
  • The significance of science on humanity’s future.
