Robert French works with Senior Research Scientist Mark Showalter to study the rings and moons of the outer planets of our solar system - their origin, evolution, and eventual demise. Over the past six years at the SETI Institute, he has investigated the changes in Saturn's F ring from the Voyager days to the present, analyzed the stability of the inner Uranian satellites, and co-discovered a moon of Neptune.

His current project involves reanalyzing all 300,000+ Cassini ISS images to provide more accurate spacecraft pointing information to all researchers. This new navigation data will save significant time and effort for all future Cassini researchers.
