Anti-Aging Games® Tip

Anti-Aging Games® Tip: Did you know that fast walking is great for your brain?

Fast walking 30 minutes per day, five times per week is linked to 33% less Alzheimer's. Walking as fast as you can while being able to still hold a conversation is considered fast enough. If you have trouble walking, consider water-walking, swimming, using a cross country ski machine or bicycle. People in wheelchairs can use a hand-wheel or any other aerobic activity. Please consult with your doctor first to find out what exercise and frequency is best for you.

Anti-AgingGames® Tip: Did you know that drinking tea may be great for you?

Green tea, oolong tea, and black tea contain powerful antioxidants. Some studies link drinking a few cups of these teas per day to 73% less incidence of strokes and 68% less incidence of heart attacks. And tea burns fat! Add a little lemon to help your body absorb the antioxidants better. Don't add milk because it blocks antioxidant absorption. Ask your doctor first because tea doesn't agree with some people (for example people with anxiety).

Anti-AgingGames® Tip: Did you know that playing actively is great for your brain?

Your brain loves novelty and variety. If you can have fun with something new, mentally engaging, and interactive, it helps your brain grow new neural connections. It can be anything new and mentally engaging- playing memory games, bridge, or chess, learning how to play guitar, learning how to salsa dance, or learning a new language. You don't even have to be good at it. As long as it's new, fun, and interactive, your brain will love it!
