CARBON - a Minor Matters Book - by Charles Lindsay (SETI AIR Program Director) with essays by Dr. Jill Tarter and Lyle Rexer.
SETI Institute is pleased to announce that Charles Lindsay, first artist in residence and Program Director of the SETI AIR program, is pursuing publication of CARBON with Minor Matters Books. It’s a pre sales model aiming for 500 copies to sell at $50 for the book to go to press. Everyone who pre-purchases is named in the beautifully-produced art book.
Lindsay received a Guggenheim Fellowship for the Carbon work, and these were the images SETI Institute astronomer Jill Tarter first saw and that led to the SETI AIR program. The book includes an essay by Tarter, as well as author and art critic Lyle Rexer.
The sales deadline of March 31 assures CARBON will be available for the May opening of Explode Every Day: An Inquiry into the Phenomenon of Wonder, an exhibition at MASSMoCA curated by Denise Markonish and Sean Foley featuring Linsday and three other SETI AIR artists.
