Big Picture Science

Radio Program and Podcast

Big Picture Science is a weekly, one-hour radio show and podcast that began at the SETI Institute in 2004. In January 2025, Big Picture Science went independent. But its co-hosts, SETI Institute Fellow and Senior Astronomer, Seth Shostak and science journalist Molly Bentley, continue to report on modern science and technology with smart, humorous storytelling.

Big Picture Science has joined with the nonprofit Journalism Funding Partners to ensure that your donations to Big Picture Science are tax deductible. Our new donation platform, Givebutter, will automatically email you a receipt for your records.

Themed episodes feature interviews with top scientists and technology innovators on a range of topics, from the microbiome to Mars, and from the physics of motion to the intelligence of animals. Regular “Skeptic Check” episodes devoted to critical thinking separate fact from fiction on topics such as health fads, Bigfoot, and UFOs.
