Join an exciting group of engineers and scientists at the SETI Institute and UC Berkeley as we develop a unique, world class radio telescope for SETI observations and radio astronomy. The Allen Telescope Array (ATA) is a new radio telescope in Northern California, commissioned by the SETI Institute and UCB to simultaneously perform searches for extraterrestrial intelligence (SETI) and radio astronomy observations (galaxy-galaxy interactions, star formation, dark matter, etc.).
The SETI Institute is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Software Engineer at level II or higher to participate in development and maintenance of the telescope control software. The ATA presents many stimulating challenges for the successful applicant related to its networked array of antennas, large data collection rates and data reduction, and complex scientific analysis. Everything we do is essentially breaking new ground.

This position is stationed at the SETI Institute in Mountain View, California, and will require occasional travel to the UCB Hat Creek Radio Observatory near Burney, CA. Position will close as soon as an appropriate candidate is identified. US citizenship or permanent residency required.
